In the 2025 Best of Panama, Finca Sophia's La Roca lot earned 94.88 points and placed 3rd in the Gesha Natural category. We were honored to secure this rare lot at US$5105/kg. The cup is refined and expressive, offering layers of ripe fruit and delicate florals that showcases the beauty of Gesha grown at the very limits of elevation.

Interestingly, in 2024 Best of Panama, the La Roca lot earned 94.50 points and placed 5th in the Gesha Natural category, with just US$2562/kg. I was able to obtain some of this coffee.

Despite this coffee has already been almost 2 years old, the vacuum sealed packaging and low temperature storage was able to preserve the clarity in the cup really well. The cup is sweet, juicy and floral. The acidity and sweetness are persisted in the palate from hot to cold. Towards the end of each sip, you can tell maybe a bit of winey undertone that's from the age of this coffee. IMO, it only adds to the uniqueness of the vintage.
